Gas injection in die casting: Overcoming challenges, shaping the future

The introduction of gas injection technology in die casting was a challenging journey full of setbacks – but also valuable insights. After numerous optimizations, the process is now stable. The next decisive step: Finding a customer project that makes the leap from the prototype phase to series production to sustainably establish the technology.

The implementation of gas injection technology in die casting posed significant challenges for us and all involved partners. The entire process was marked by recurring setbacks, which, however, provided valuable learning opportunities from which we were mostly able to derive the right insights. With each component – whether customer projects like the “Vitra chair base” or the “VW clutch cover” as well as our own demonstration parts – we continuously learned and ultimately managed to optimize and stabilize the production process.

The next challenge is to identify a suitable project with customers that can be transferred to series production after a successful prototype phase. Only through this step will it be possible to bring the technology to series maturity and confirm its long-term practical suitability. The goal is to establish a reliable and reproducible production method that meets the high demands of our customers and fully exploits the potential of gas injection technology.
